能條雅由 Masayoshi NOJO（1989-)
1989年出生於日本神奈川縣，2015年取得京都造形藝術大學日本繪畫碩士學位。能條雅由以獨特且繁複的技法，將當代覺語彙結合日式美學，探索記憶與時光流逝的主題。
「琳派」等日本畫派常以金屬箔作為畫面基底的表現，於能條雅由的創作中，則轉化銀箔、鋁箔為畫材主體，將攝影、絹印技法、繪畫合而為一。多層的疊箔技法營造畫面的縱深，而金屬箔隨光線、環境轉換變化的光學效果，充滿灰階的無限漸變，在靜態作品中，融入時序流動的動態元素。
能條雅由的創作題材多取自山林、枝葉與灌木等無名風景，藉由深邃的神祕森林，引發觀者似曾相似的記憶回溯。他近年於倫敦、東京與臺灣的個展，展覽主旨非強調風景的再現，而是藉由閃爍、霧化的視覺體驗，讓記憶的不確定性與觀看的主觀性成為創作主題。
Born in 1989 in Kanagawa, Japan, Masayoshi NOJO earned his MA in Japanese Painting from Kyoto University of Art and Design in 2015. Through his unique and intricate techniques, Nojo merges contemporary visual language with traditional Japanese aesthetics, exploring themes of memory and the passage of time.
In Japanese painting traditions such as Rimpa, metal leaf is often used as a foundational element. In NOJO’s work, silver and aluminum foil become the central medium, seamlessly integrating photography, silk-screening, and painting. His layered foil technique creates depth on the canvas, while the reflective qualities of the metal shift with changing light and environment, producing infinite gradations of gray. In these static works, the optical effects of the metal evoke a sense of temporal flow.
NOJO often draws inspiration from unnamed landscapes—forests, branches, and shrubs—inviting viewers to revisit familiar yet elusive memories through his depiction of deep, mysterious woods. His recent solo exhibitions in London, Tokyo, and Taiwan emphasize not the literal representation of landscapes, but the flickering, mist-like visual experience. Through this approach, the uncertainty of memory and the subjectivity of perception become central to his artistic exploration.
