生態入墨 萬物共生 Eco-Ink in Form, Where All Beings Coexist

李振明出生於嘉義，是臺灣水墨的重要推手，李振明投身當代水墨拓展已積累三十幾年。臺灣師範大學美術研究所畢業後，在中部幾所大專院校任教，2001年回到母校師大，從教授、系主任到院長期間，一直勇於任事、勤於投入。卸下院長職務後，到韓國首爾的東國大學客座一年，宣揚其後文人彩墨的理念。擺脫行政工作的牽絆，讓他更能專心於創作。

李振明的創作，從土地環境關懷、到在地人文的涉探，其水墨作品個人風格的辨識度高，從早期獲得雄獅美術新人獎首獎，不久就在臺北市立美術館與臺中的臺灣美術館舉辦個展。作品費心於畫面的佈局構成，透過描繪刻劃、結組與安排，營造出一種騷動下的寧靜。

作品的肌理層次豐富，在不斷的漬染皴擦下，反覆交疊的墨痕，鋪陳出渾厚的質感。畫面主題明晰，精心描繪的圖像符號，在渾然交錯的場域裡，顯得格外凸出。花、鳥、蟲、魚等圖騰錯移穿梭畫幅之中，環繞在佛陀圖像四周，象徵敬祈禮讚外，也是其畫作風格藉以營造的語彙借用！

Lee Cheng-Ming was born in Chiayi and is a key figure in Taiwanese ink art, has been involved in the development of contemporary ink painting for more than 30 years. After graduating from Taiwan Normal University, graduate school of art, he taught in several colleges and universities in the central region of Taiwan. In 2001, he returned to his alma mater-- National Taiwan Normal University. During his time from being a Professor, Chairman to Dean, he has always been courageous and diligent. He was a visiting professor in Dongguk University in Seoul, South Korea for a year to promote the idea of his literati. Without the burden of administrative work, he concentrates more on art creation.

Lee Cheng-Ming’s work shows his care for the environment and the exploration of the local humanities, which has a high degree of recognition of the personal style of his ink paintings; he won the first prize of Horizon Award by Lion Art from the early days, and soon held solo exhibitions at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung. The works are painstakingly focused on the layout of the paintings, creating asense of peacefulness under the disturbance through depiction, grouping and arrangement.

The texture of the work is rich in layers. Under the continuous staining, dying, scrubbing and rubbing, the ink marks are repeatedly overlapped to display a rich texture. The theme of the painting is clear, and the elaborated image symbols are particularly standing out in the seamlessly interlaced field. Totems such as flowers, birds, insects, and fish are staggered in the painting, and surround by the Buddha, which symbolized for respect and praise, moreover, it is also a lexical borrowing used for the creation of his painting style!
