陶與瓷的當代再釋 Contemporary Reinterpretation of Ceramics

林振龍，瓷揚窯的主人，臺灣現代陶藝的重要推手。字號二谷，意涵谷之低，向山仰望。於1973年入王修功主持的漢唐陶藝廠學習，後拜陶藝名家林葆家教授為師，開始與陶瓷的緣分，並為設立瓷揚窯奠定深厚的基礎。1979年時，臺北土城成立瓷揚窯工作室。運用專業技術製作坯體，供藝術家來此繪製陶瓷畫，這樣的合作模式，讓林振龍能吸收各家之長，開啟陶瓷創作的一片天地。

透過對泥土質地、特色的深刻了解，寫意地呈現自然樣貌。撕土的粗獷肌理如嶙峋山石，青瓷的溫潤幽靜喻作一泓碧綠湖水，高溫燒製的大地裂紋延展出無盡情感。以肌理和釉面的對比，詮釋對大地的虔誠與關懷，以陶藝將自然與人文氣息做了最美的融合。

LIN Chen-Long, founder of Ciyang Kiln, is a key figure in the development of modern ceramics in Taiwan. Also known by the studio name Er Gu—meaning “a valley that looks up toward the mountains”—it reflects both humility and aspiration.

In 1973, he began his training at the Han-Tang Ceramic Factory under WANG Hsiu-Kung, and later studied with the renowned ceramic artist Professor LIN Bao-Jia. These formative experiences marked the beginning of his lifelong engagement with ceramics and laid a solid foundation for establishing Ciyang Kiln. In 1979, he founded the Ciyang Kiln studio in Tucheng, Taipei. By producing high-quality clay bodies for artists to paint on, this collaborative model allowed Lin to absorb diverse artistic approaches, opening up expansive possibilities in his own ceramic practice.

With a deep understanding of the nature and texture of clay, Lin renders the forms of nature in an expressive and intuitive manner. The rugged, torn clay surfaces evoke craggy mountains; the gentle, luminous quality of celadon suggests a tranquil pool of jade-green water. Crackles formed through high-temperature firing extend into a boundless field of emotion. Through the contrast between texture and glaze, his works convey a profound reverence and care for the earth, achieving a harmonious fusion of nature and humanistic spirit through ceramic art.
