成長於台灣，國立藝專畢業後的鄭麗雲為了追求更開闊的創作觀，赴美求取藝術碩士，並長期定居。

鄭麗雲的油畫創作避開了過去觀眾較為習慣的堆疊方式，藉由刮除顏料產生的線條作為創作符號，精準的控制色彩漸層與圖面的空間感，形成別具風格的「減法藝術」。

順著這些線條的流動，不難發現每一段線條都是一條線索，引領觀者感受藝術家幽微的思緒。
在鄭麗雲的巧手下，線條被重複的編織，逐漸形成畫面的圖樣，化成地、氣、水、火等四種被西方哲學視為構成宇宙的基本元素。

Raised in Taiwan, Leigh Wen graduated from the National Taiwan Academy of Arts and later went to the United States to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in order to seek a broader artistic vision, where she subsequently settled for an extended period.

Leigh Wen’s oil painting departs from the layered techniques that viewers have traditionally been accustomed to. Instead, she employs lines created by scraping away paint as expressive visual symbols, while precisely controlling color gradation and spatial depth. This approach gives rise to a distinctive style of “subtractive art.”

Following the flow of these lines, one can easily sense that each segment serves as a clue, guiding the viewer to perceive the artist’s subtle and intricate thoughts. Under Leigh Wen’s deft hands, the lines are repeatedly interwoven, gradually forming the structure of the composition and transforming into the four classical elements—earth, air, water, and fire—which Western philosophy regards as the fundamental components of the universe.
