再生的風景 Living Landscapes

陳孟澤，1971年生於台南，國立台灣師範大學美術系畢業後即服務於新竹市立建華國中，曾獲奇美藝術人才培訓獎、南美展柏川獎、第二屆聯邦印象大獎等獎項。

為了更精進創作上的成熟度，2003年毅然放下教職，赴笈日本筑波大學專攻油畫創作，對肌理與媒材和創作內涵有新的體認。2006年回國後榮獲第六屆廖繼春油畫創作獎，並以溫室櫥窗為題材於台北市立美術館舉辦「透明之間－Looking through」個展。2008於臺灣師範大學美術系攻讀繪畫創作理論組博士。獲台南美術研究會南美創作獎、巴黎文教基金會巴黎大獎，作品廣受台灣師範大學、筑波大學、奇美藝術基金會、聯邦文教基金會、長流美術館等機構收藏。

「畫家都在等待著邂逅某種唯一契合的表象以窺見存有的樣貌，這種唯一往往只有在世界的空白處與裂縫中才能發現，而繪畫媒材物質感的呈現正好提供了這種存在感顯現的出口。」陳孟澤巧妙地透過光穿梭其中，以創作呈現對自身所處之世界的觀察。

透過油彩與蛋彩的混合使用，透明與不透明的堆疊，在形體被拆解交錯後又重新回到形體的過程中，陳孟澤以最真誠的姿態貼近存有。對他來說，真正的創作近乎是在一條迂迴而渾沌的道路上重新認識自我的過程。而我們也能透過他的繪畫找回某些被埋沒的價值，在靜謐的恬淡間感受心靈的契合。

CHEN Meng-Tze was born in Tainan, Taiwan, in 1971 and graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University. He has received several awards, including the Chi Mei Art Talent Training Award, the Nanmei Exhibition Bochuan Award, and the 2nd Union Impression Grand Prize.

In pursuit of greater artistic maturity, he went to Japan in 2003 to study oil painting at the University of Tsukuba, where he gained new insights into texture, materials, and artistic concepts. After returning to Taiwan in 2006, he received the 6th Liao Chi-Chun Oil Painting Award and held a solo exhibition titled “In-Between Transparency – Looking through” at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, featuring works inspired by greenhouse window displays. In 2008, he began doctoral studies in painting theory and creative practice at National Taiwan Normal University.

Through the combined use of oil and tempera, and the layering of transparency and opacity, CHEN Meng-Tze breaks down and interweaves forms before allowing them to re-emerge as form again. In this process, he approaches existence with an honest and sincere attitude. For him, true creation is almost a winding and chaotic journey of re-discovering the self.
